Panam Sports Defines 36 Sports for Lima 2027
After an Executive Board meeting, 36 sports were agreed to be part of the Sports Program of the XX Pan American Games Lima 2027.

Santiago de Chile, June 19, 2025.- With 758 days to go before the start of the most important sports feast of the Americas, the Lima 2027 Pan American Games, Panam Sports informed the 36 sports that will be included in the Sports Program of this continental event.
The decision was made by the Panam Sports Executive Board, which considered the preferences of the 41 National Olympic Committees members of the Organization.
It should be noted that from the official list, 33 sports were chosen according to the preferences of the National Olympic Committees and 3 were chosen by the Lima 2027 Organizing Committee.
"As Panam Sports we have taken a very important step with the approval of the 36 sports for Lima 2027. We followed a very democratic process among all the National Olympic Committees and today, the Executive Board has confirmed the sports of the Program of our Pan American Games" said the President of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic.
The chosen sports are the following:
- Aquatics – Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, Open Water
- Athletics
- Badminton
- Handball
- Baseball (men) / Softball (women)
- Boxing
- Canoe – Sprint, Slalom
- Cycling – Track, Road, Mountain, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle
- Cricket
- Equestrian – Jumping, Dressage, Eventing
- Sport Climbing
- Fencing
- Water Skiing
- Football
- Gymnastics – Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline
- Golf
- Judo
- Hockey
- Karate
- Weightlifting
- Wrestling
- Skating – Artistic, Speed, Skateboarding
- Pelota
- Modern Pentathlon
- Rowing
- Rugby 7
- Squash
- Surf
- Archery
- Shooting
- Taekwondo

The Lima 2027 Pan American Games will be held on July 16th to August 1st, 2027, with the participation of more than 7,000 athletes from the 41 countries of the continent.
