Road to Paris 2024: Budapest Day 2

by USA Modern Pentathlon

The journey towards Paris 2024 continued on Day 2 with the Men's Qualification round in Budapest. While every journey has its challenges, Team USA showed resilience and determination despite facing some hurdles.

Brendan Anderson, Tyler Evans, Tristen Bell, and Eric Witter competed for Team USA, and although the final results were not what we hoped for, the experience gained was invaluable as we navigate the road to Paris 2024.

Each athlete had bright spots during the day, but unfortunately, the Laser Run event (specifically one shooting series) for the majority of our team proved too much of a hurdle to overcome and we failed to advance any of our men’s team to the semi-final round. Tristen Bell, in only his second World Cup event nearly made the move but missed advancing by a single round in the Laser Run, narrowly missing the cut. The margins of qualification were razor thin as the field of nearly 100 athletes contained the top men in the world.

As the team regroups, they look forward to supporting Jess Davis in the Women's semi-final round tomorrow, as they continue to travel along the "Road to Paris 2024".

Good Luck and Go Team USA!!
